Program: Hosta’s in the Garden

With 1000’s of Hosta hybrids available, their diversity assures them a place in every garden. The origins, cultivation, and characteristics are presented along with design considerations and landscape uses. A handout includes lists of popular and award-winning Hosta’s to try, along with Hosta’s for specific uses, such as in containers.

Specker: Tamara Block

Tamara began her professional life as an academic. She has a BA and MA in Advertising and a PhD in Mass Media from Michigan State University. She taught graduate-level courses at Northwestern University before leaving academia to partner with her husband in Block Research, Inc., conducting marketing research for companies like IBM and Levy.

Tamara is a longtime member of the Garden Guild of Highland Park.
